Envicom Corporation has served as the lead environmental consultant to Sherwood Development Company on the Residential Golf Course Development of 101 estate residences and an 18-hole par 3 Jack Nicklaus Golf Course in eastern Ventura County. Our involvement initiated with preparation of existing conditions biological surveys for vegetation, rare plants, protected trees, as well as focused surveys for sensitive species.
Envicom Corporation developed and maintains a Geographic Information System (GIS) to track the location and status of protected trees at Lake Sherwood. Over 200 protected trees were recorded using a Global Positioning System GPS and project specific data dictionary. The GIS is available to Sherwood Development decision-makers, including facility managers, maintenance personnel, and developers to monitor, track, and maintain the health of the tree, fulfill mitigation requirements and make informed land use management decisions.
