Indian Springs
Sensitive Plant Recovery and Replanting
Program – Los Angeles County
Envicom Corporation has been involved in biological assessment and monitoring of projects associated with the Indian Springs residential development. These projects included an initial biological assessment, avoidance and impacts to sensitive species, evaluation of locations for a water tank, construction monitoring and implementation of a five year recovery and replanting plan for an impacted sensitive species, Plummer’s mariposa lily (Calochortus plummerae).
Envicom Corporation prepared and is responsible for the implementation of the Indian Springs Mariposa Lily Recovery and Replanting Plan. The plan was prepared in cooperation with Los Angeles County Planning Department and the California Department of Fish and Game. Over the course of three years, approximately 12,000 bulbs were transplanted to open space areas of Indian Springs. The 12,000 bulbs were acquired through salvage of bulbs from on-site and off-site construction areas and through seed propagation efforts.
