Conrad N. Hilton Foundation Headquarters
City of Agoura Hills
- Environmental Constraints Analysis
- Fuel Modification Plan
Envicom Corporation prepared the Environmental Constraints Analysis for the Conrad N. Hilton Foundation Headquarters building to be located in the City of Agoura Hills, western Los Angeles County. The site includes the creation of a contemporary-style office campus, which would provide the growing Foundation a central headquarters to operate, maintain, and coordinate it's long-term charitable projects. The project intends to incorporate design elements that would maximize energy efficiency and create the inviting work space that is needed in order to meet the Foundation's aspirations, which aim to alleviate suffering.
The various resources on the project site include biology, topography and visual. The vegetation communities include California annual grasslands, oak woodlands, riparian communities and federally threatened species. Site topography includes relatively flat areas at the lowest elevations, transitioning abruptly to steep slopes that reach elevations of 1,790 feet along the crest of Ladyface Mountain. The slopes include two main drainages that transverse the site south to north.
Geographic Information System (GIS) was utilized to map the constraints associated with the project site. Resources were mapped during extensive field surveys using GPS and cartographic techniques. In using GIS and Spatial Analysis we were able to determine development constraints and opportunities on the project site.
