Spring Survey Biological Resources Inventory
– Ventura County / City of Santa Paula

This is a report on the results of a springtime 2007 botanical survey conducted at the Adams Canyon Ranch, in the Topatopa Mountains of Ventura County, northwest of the City of Santa Paula.  Previous botanical (and wildlife) surveys have been conducted by Rincon Consultants, Inc. during the Fall of 2004 and Summer of 2005, and again in May and July of 2006.  The results of those surveys were compiled in a report entitled: Adams Canyon Ranch Biological Surveys (Rincon, August 2006).  As dicussed below in the Methods and Materials section, the present survey is concerned only with those portions of the Ranch for which the Applicant is proposing that developments would occur.  Namely, the graded area of the housing pads, plus a 200-foot fuel modification zone surrounding them, ad associated roadways and infrastructure improvements.  The remaining areas of the Ranch were not specifically surveyed during the course of the present study.  Therefore, any modifications to the proposed plan that would affect areas outside of the surveyed areas would require subsequent botanical examination.
